Nasal Saline Rinse Recipe

Nasal Saline rinsing is very helpful in many nasal conditions and extremely important in reducing crusting and scarring following nasal surgery.

There are excellent preparations available from pharmacies (ie Flo, FESS, Narium), however using these long term does become expensive and some patients may have to use saline sprays for life. 

As an alternative you can mix your own with the following recipe and fill up an empty spray bottle as required. It is best kept in the fridge and should be discarded after one week.

1. •   600ml Hot Water
   

2. •   3 teaspoons of NON iodized salt (eg. natural sea salt)
   

3. •   1/2 teaspoon of bicarb soda
